How About a Burger With a Side of Doughnut? It’s Coming!

Two of the most iconic tastes in America are coming together at a location near you sometime in the next year or two.

McDonald's says it is adding Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to the menus at its restaurants nationwide.

It's all part of what the burger giant calls a 'phased market rollout' that will begin later this year and be complete by the end of 2026.

They've already been kicking the tires on the concept with trial runs at 160 locations in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky.

Now, you will need to limit your expectations a bit when this becomes a reality around here. McDonald's only has plans to carry three of Krispy Kreme’s offerings:

• Original Glazed
• Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles
• Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled

But this is great news for Krispy Kreme lovers in South Dakota and Minnesota, who have been without dedicated locations from the doughnut chain for more than a decade.

Sioux Falls' Krispy Kreme location, which opened on 41st Street in May of 2003, closed three years later.

Minnesota's last Krispy Kreme shut its doors in 2008.

The chain is still alive and well in Iowa with four locations in the Hawkeye State:
