Liberty Land: Massive Theme Park and Resort Opening in Rapid City, SD!
Today we share the incredible news that Rapid City, South Dakota, will be home to a massive theme park set to open in 2026 - which happens to be the 250th birthday of America. According to KEVN, the patriotic adventure park will be called Libertyland USA and the artistic renderings look quite impressive.
When completed, Libertyland USA will have a theme park, complete with roller coasters, water lagoon and water fun park, an indoor/outdoor amphitheater, a hotel and conference center, dining, an indoor waterpark, and RV resort. Sound too good to be true? The Rapid City city council has approved the plans and, according to President and CEO of Elevate Rapid City, Tom Johnson, the new project will bring "up to 2,000 new jobs to the area and create tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue."
With upwards of 3 million visitors to nearby Mount Rushmore every year, the ambitious project could thrive and become a huge tourist destination for South Dakota.
At this time, the 302-acres of land set aside for Libertyland USA will be near I-90 and will be near the intersections of Lacrosse Street and Mall Drive in the northern part of Rapid City.
