If the writers at Thrillist have anything to say about it, South Dakota's Custer State Park would soon be on its way to becoming the next national park.

Thrillist is a website that deals with all things travel. From places to go, stay, eat, drink, and more they cover it all.

In a recent article, titled "Incredible Places in the U.S. That Aren't National Parks - - But Should Be" Thrillist makes the argument for Custer State Park to be named a National Park.

If you've ever been to Custer State Park, you already know just how amazing it is. With the breathtaking Needles Highway and the gorgeous, often photographed, and movie-famous (National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets), Sylvan Lake.

It is also home to the Annual Bison Roundup, the not-to-be-missed wild burros on the Wildlife Loop, and there are four other lakes to enjoy in the park as well.

There is hiking, camping, fishing, hotel amenities, fine dining and so much more. You add all of those tremendous good things of life together and there are numerous reasons why Custer Park would qualify for a boost in status nationally.
