
Mount Rushmore Fireworks Return For America’s Big 250th Birthday
Celebrating 250 Years of Independence
The United States has a big birthday coming up this July, as our country turns 250 years old. Dakota News Now is reporting that after a 5-year break, a big fireworks show is returning to Mount Rushmore as part of the South Dakota America 250 celebration.

Secure Your Spot: Ticket Lottery Details
Tickets are required to attend the show, which is taking place on Friday, July 3, and will be available to the public through a public lottery from April 8 through 12.
There is a $1 non-refundable lottery application fee. Each applicant can apply for up to four tickets and a parking space or shuttle service. Applicants will receive lottery results on April 14. If successful, the notice will include additional details and instructions. All tickets are non-transferable.
The park will close to the general public on the evening of July 2nd and will remain closed on July 3rd. Only lottery ticket winners will be allowed to access the park on July 3rd.
Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis within the developed area of the Memorial. Ticket holders can enter the park beginning at 1 pm. The special events are currently scheduled to begin at 4 pm and end around 10 pm.

Join the Independence Day Festivities on July 4
Even if you can't attend the fireworks event, Mount Rushmore will be open to everyone on July 4 for the annual Independence Day celebration, featuring historical reenactments, patriotic performances, including the U.S. Air Force Academy Band starting at 7 pm, and special programming throughout the day.
