As of last Sunday, there is now somewhat of a new place in downtown Sioux Falls where you can get even more sweet treats to help satisfy your sweet tooth.

The re-imaged Candy Cloud Factory is now open at 701 North Phillips Avenue, and making the dreams of candy lovers' all over the Sioux Empire come true.

Candy Cloud Factory recently went through a change in ownership, and according to Dakota News Now, they are now being run by the same people that own Boozy Bakery Intoxibakes.

The re-imaged Candy Cloud Factory store just finished celebrating what they are calling a grand re-opening on Sunday, (February 18).

Co-owner Shannon Johnson, told Dakota News Now, “We were actually working on a new location for Intoxibakes when the idea of Candy Cloud going up for sale was propositioned to us, we really liked the idea of having another store that had sweets.”

Prior to the ownership change, the shop already had quite the reputation here in Sioux Falls for having some of the best-tasting cotton candy the city had to offer, with over 18 different flavors to be exact. Now, the new Candy Cloud Factory is also serving up over 100 different types of candy, along with SDSU Ice Cream, Cake Pops, Gaylen's Popcorn, and something called Hot Cocoa Bombs, a little sweet treat idea they picked up from the folks with Intoxibakes!

Josie Layton, another co-owner of Candy Cloud Factory, told Dakota News Now, “We’re really excited for the skating rink going across the street, the Levitt, the concessions that are going to bring a lot of kids and families downtown here. That’s why we brought the candy shop, to give kids and families more options.”

If you were a big fan of Intoxibakes, the alcohol-infused cupcake store downtown, you should know they have plans very soon to move out of the Jones Building on Phillips Avenue to a brand new location that has not been announced yet.

Look for the details on that store's new location to be revealed soon.
