Long Before Amazon, Sioux Falls Shopped This Way
For three decades, when Sioux Falls drivers headed down Louise Avenue, they saw the Gordmans off-price department store across the parking lot from the Empire Mall.
In September 2020, the store closed for good. The building then sat empty for a few years, and I threw out ideas for the empty former-Gordmans building. Like an Ikea or a Trader Joe's, or we could create a time machine and make it a Tower Records from 1992.
Nobody took any of my ideas; instead, in 2023, the old Gordmans spot in Sioux Falls became a Crunch Fitness franchise.
