Summertime is always exciting for many reasons, especially when the fair comes to town. One of the biggest fairs in the Sioux Empire is the Turner County Fair in Parker, South Dakota.

The Turner County Fair is a four-day event and the admission to get into the fair is free! There are lots of activities that take place during the fair including the Ranch Rodeo and the Demolition Derby. Let's not forget about the delicious fair food to enjoy!

This year's Turner County Fair just kick-off on Monday. There is something for everyone to enjoy. The officials with Turner County Fair are even giving kiddos with special needs a chance to experience the fair away from the crowds.

According to the Facebook post, the fair will be welcoming special needs children to the fairgrounds on Tuesday, August 15th beginning at 12 noon. They can enjoy the carnival rides FOR FREE at the Turner County Fair with their friend for one hour. All children with their guests (one guest per child) will need to obtain a wristband before entering the fair.

This year the fair will be offering a designated time for children with special needs to come and enjoy the rides for free! On Tuesday, Aug. 15th from 12 - 1 p.m., children with special needs can get a wristband and enjoy the hour, allowing one friend to join them. Check-in at the fair office anytime before noon for their wristband.This event would not be possible without our sponsors: D.C. Lynch Carnival, Maxwell Bowar Agency, Temple Insurance Agency, Meridian Corner and Salem Zion Mennonite Church.

Fairs can be a little overwhelming for kids. So it's awesome the Turner County Fair is giving all kids an opportunity to have a good time at the fair!
