According to the website, the murals on The World's Only Corn Palace are created with 12 different colors or shades of corn to decorate the outside. These colors include red, brown, black, blue, white, orange, calico, yellow, and even green corn! Each year, a new theme is chosen for the murals for all the enjoy.

A different theme is chosen each year, and murals are designed to reflect that theme. Ear by ear the corn is nailed to the Corn Palace to create a scene. The decorating process usually starts in late May with the removal of the rye and dock. The corn murals are stripped at the end of August and the new ones are completed by the first of October. Just like South Dakota Agriculture, growing conditions can affectthe  production of our decorating materials and may delay the decorating process.

What's really awesome about these mural designs is that they're created by students at Dakota Wesleyan University who are enrolled in Digital Media and Design courses. It's a part of a partnership that began in 2019.

South Dakota loves to hunt. It's not only one of the state's most popular pastimes, but it's also big business. Especially South Dakota's famous Pheasant season.

There are seasons for hunting deer, antelope, turkey, and even bison. Plenty of opportunities to get that freezer in the garage stocked up.

The South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Department is the place to go for info about hunting licenses and specific rules and regulations for hunting in South Dakota.

Hunting most game in South Dakota is restricted to specific hunting seasons. Like deer and pheasant seasons in the fall.

But there are also animals you can hunt year-round in South Dakota.

There are still some rules to follow, like where exactly you can hunt. South Dakota has millions of acres of public and private land to hunt on. And you'll still need a hunting license.

So, always check with the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Department for the latest information and regulations.
