Need a Cute Kitty? South Dakota Animal Shelter Is Full of Cats
If you're looking for a new cat friend, there's a South Dakota animal shelter that could really use your help.
Staff at the Aberdeen Area Humane Society are getting their "butts kicked" thanks to the significant amount of cats they have taken into the shelter. That's only part of the problem at the local animal shelter.
Because of the number of cats at the Aberdeen Area Humane Society, the shelter not only needs more cat adopters but is also looking for donations to keep the cats happy while they wait for their new "fur-ever" homes. The South Dakota shelter shared their plea in a heartbreaking Facebook post.
Aberdeen Area Humane Society staff would appreciate any support necessary in order to help their animals, especially their cats.
We get calls daily, hourly almost, asking us to take in more cats. In order to take in new ones, we need your help. All you need to do is have an approved application and provide a small donation. That can be a material item (items from our wishlist) OR you can do a monetary donation.
All shelter pets want is a second chance at life. These cats could be your new best friend.

To add to this unfortunate situation, the Aberdeen Area Humane Society is not taking cat intakes at this time "due to being over capacity." Staff is also temporarily closing the cat visitation area to visitors.
Let's face it. When we see a dog, cat, or a pet of any kind, we can't help but be in a happy mood. Pets make life better!
