Local South Dakota Fair Drops Jimmie Allen From Lineup
Fair season is right around the corner in the state of South Dakota. It's the time of year to enjoy greasy fair food and to dance to great music all night long.
The Brown County Fair in Aberdeen already has a star-studded lineup for this year's Grandstand entertainment. Fairgoers can check out the Roots and Boots show featuring Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw, and Collin Raye, country singer Mitchell Tenpenny with Ingrid Andress, and Lil Jon with Hinder just to name a few.
One popular show that was part of this year's Grandstand stage was country singer Jimmie Allen with special guest former Rascal Flatts singer Gary LeVox on Saturday, August 19th. Well...Gary LeVox will still be on stage on the 19th. However, Jimmie Allen will no longer be the main act for the evening. Officials with the Brown County Fair made the announcement on Tuesday morning.
If you have been keeping up with country music news, then you would know that Jimmie Allen is dealing with some serious legal issues. Our partners at Dakota News Now are reporting Jimmie Allen is "facing a civil lawsuit brought against him by a former manager accusing him of sexual and verbal abuse." The investigation is currently ongoing. Fair officials with the Brown County Fair would not comment if this decision had anything to do with Jimmie's legal issues.
So who will be performing at the Brown County Fair this summer? The Fair Board is currently searching for other artists to perform with Gary LeVox. Stayed tuned to the fair's Facebook page and website for all the details.
The Brown County Fair begins on Monday, August 14th through Sunday, August 20th.
