Winter Wonderland at Falls Park has been an iconic Sioux Empire holiday tradition for 21 years. Experience Sioux Falls describes as a "cherished" event that has only grown over time:

What started as a few strands of lights and a lighted reindeer at The Falls has grown to over 25 miles of twinkling light strands and other holiday decorations. That’s the distance from The Falls to Lennox, SD. You'll also discover 260 decorated trees, 215 beautifully adorned light poles, and more than a mile of garland.

The lights are truly a sight to behold! It takes around seven weeks and at least ten team members to set up Winter Wonderland, so you can guess how labor-intensive this effort is. Thank you to the hard-working crew at the Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Department!

Winter Wonderland at Falls Park will be open every day from 5 PM until midnight. Mark November 22nd in your calendar!

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the rest of the Sioux Empire (AKA southeastern South Dakota) are welcoming thousands of new residents every year.

Many of you new folks will be experiencing your first eastern South Dakota winter. While it doesn't usually get as bad as our Dakota friends up north, I speak from experience when I say it can get a little rough.

Food Network Shows That Have Been To South Dakota

Living here in the upper Midwest we don't end up on national TV shows very often. That's probably a good thing in the long run.

But it is pretty cool when something from South Dakota is on TV. Three shows from the Food Network family of shows have showcased South Dakota restaurants.

You may remember when Guy Fieri and Diners Drive-ins and Dives was in Sioux Falls in June of 2020 to visit some of our city's unique establishments.

A few years ago the Travel Channel Show Food Paradise visited Deadwood.

If you remember the 'golden age' of Foot Network, back when Rachel Ray was the queen of the channel, she took her show $40 a Day to Rapid City in 2005.
