Brooks announced his 2026 Blame It All on My Roots Tour on July 7, with two initial dates in Indianapolis, Ind., on Aug. 21 and 22. He added two more dates in Indianapolis on Aug. 20 and 23 to accommodate demand.

Brooks' 2026 tour is a throwback to his over-the-top arena shows from his '90s heyday.

The tour emulates the world tour that Brooks launched in March of 1996, which ran for two years and consisted of 344 shows, making it one of the most successful tours of the decade.

What Is Garth Brooks' Drum Pod?

Brooks' late-'90s tour featured the Drum Pod, a plexiglass and aluminum structure that enclosed drummer Mike Palmer during the shows.

The Drum Pod is making its return in 2026; in fact, it's a centerpiece of the new tour. Fans' first indication that the concerts were coming was from a video that Brooks posted early on July 7 after wiping his Instagram page clean.

The video shows footage of the Drum Pod as Brooks says, "How long has it been, old girl? 30 years?"

That footage is Interspersed with flashback clips of the Drum Pod onstage in action, with the singer standing on top of it during a drum solo.

"You know what? Maybe it's time we put you back to work," he muses.

Garth Brooks' 2026 Blame It All on My Roots Tour Will Be Recorded For a Live Album

Brooks' late-'90s world tour resulted in his best-known live album, Double Live, and that's another tradition he's carrying on in 2026.

Brooks is recording the tour for a live project titled Killer Live, which a press release describes as "a groundbreaking new approach to live recording that continues Brooks's tradition of capturing history in real time."
