[EXCLUSIVE] Bailey Zimmerman Wants Something That Walker Hayes Has
Bailey Zimmerman was hanging out on Taste of Country Nights with us when we started talking about his latest endeavor: starring in a Sonic commercial and becoming a brand ambassador for the fast-food giant.
I asked him if he got the same treatment that Walker Hayes got when he partnered with Applebee's, thanks to his song "Fancy Like." Hayes was famously given an Applebee's Gold Card, made just for him, that allotted unlimited free Applebee's anywhere, anytime.

Zimmerman replied "Well, you know, I wish that was a thing and maybe we can talk to Sonic about that."

Zimmerman went into practicing a speech that he would give to the Sonic executives after our phone call. "I'll be like, 'Hey listen, my dog, Evan, mentioned that Applebee's gave Walker Hayes a black card, in a sense, I need a Sonic black card, bad."
Zimmerman is the latest country singer to expand their role past the stage and onto TV screens nationwide with his Sonic commercial.
The Phone Call That Changed Everything for Bailey Zimmerman
Zimmerman was a guest on Taste of Country Nights where he detailed the moment he found out that he was going to be in a Sonic commercial and be a brand ambassador for the fast-food restaurant that he grew up going to, almost nightly.
Zimmerman detailed the moment he found out that he was going to be in a Sonic commercial. "Bro, it was crazy. I can't believe it. When they called me and asked me I was like, 'Are you sure? Are you serious?'"
He continued, "Anytime you get to work with a company like this is mind-blowing. I'm from a trailer in the middle of nowhere."
The Moment Bailey Zimmerman Felt the Most Seen
Zimmerman explained that landing the Sonic partnership is a career highlight he'll never forget. Getting the call to become a Sonic brand ambassador felt like a major milestone — a sign that he had truly made it.
This isn't just another endorsement deal for the "Rock and a Hard Place" singer. Sonic is a place that has been part of his life since he was a teenager, and not just because of the food.
He told me, "Bro, I've went to Sonic my whole life."
Sonic has long been known as a gathering place in small towns, where teenagers pull into the parking lot to hang out with friends and spend their evenings together. Zimmerman says he spent plenty of nights doing exactly that, and he still has a go-to order whenever he visits the iconic drive-in.
"If you grew up in a small town, you know. I mean, Sonic is like king. You pull your truck up into the stall, you hit the button, you order two corndogs, chili fries, put it on the back tailgate, and you're set."
