Sioux Falls is a city of many smells. Growing up there was a distinct 'hello' when you hit the city and were coming down Cliff Avenue from Interstate 90. If you live in the southeast part of the city where the city is spreading like wildfire you can pick up the smell of a farm yard at times.

So, when I saw this tweet from the National Weather Service today it caught my nose, I mean it caught my eye. The National Weather Service tweeted;

Have you noticed the smell of smoke today? Wildfires in Canada are creating smoky conditions across the region.

It's crazy how weather events in other states and even 'countries' like Canada can have an effect on our everyday lives here in South Dakota and throughout the Midwest. As you step out to pick up lunch today, take a whiff and see if you can pick up on it.
