Hillary Scott’s Husband Is Taking a Lady Antebellum Break to Raise Babies
Lady Antebellum's summer tour launches in July, but Chris Tyrrell won't be on the drums. Hillary Scott's husband will be taking some time off to care for the couple's twin girls, who were born in January.
The couple decided Tyrrell should stay home to "be holding it down as Dad, hero," Scott says, adding at they "feel at complete peace" with their choice.
"We’re both equipping each other to do exactly what we’re supposed to be doing right now. We just came to that agreement together. It was one of the easiest decisions we’ve ever made and the peace that we’ve felt since we made it has just been continual proof of it being the right call," she tells People Magazine.

Identical twin girls Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn arrived on Jan. 29, and Tyrrell will spend the summer months with them and their 4-year-old sister, Eisele Kaye.
“[I'm] looking forward to it. I’ve been a bandmate, employee, husband and dad, so I’m okay removing a hat," Tyrrell tells the publication. “Besides, when you looked at whether the band could do without me or her, there wasn’t much question!"
It's unusual to call time on the road "restful and efficient," but Scott is hoping it will be, for her. She plans to do some songwriting with her bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood throughout their summer trek.
“I’ll be able to be fully present and focused and hopefully get a lot of fun writing done,” she explains. Lady Antebellum's co-headlining Summer Plays on Tour with Darius Rucker kicks off on July 19 in Toronto, Ontario.
