One of the coolest parts about Nashville? That you never know who you might see when you walk into one of the many bars lining Broadway, the city's music hotspot. On Thursday night, that person was Garth Brooks.

Party-goers at the iconic Tootie's Orchid Lounge on Aug. 9 got a surprise visit from the country music legend, who ignited a classic singalong of his songs "That Summer" and "Ain't Going Down ('Til the Sun Comes Up)" with local singer-songwriter Andy Gibbons.

The moment, which occurred on the second floor of the well-known honky-tonk, was caught on video by Nashville television station WKRN-TV. Brooks has had some free time lately, as he concluded his World Tour last year and has been spending time in the studio working on a new album.

"The album hasn't been named yet, but right now, the whole center focus of the new album is just having fun, and I think it shows up in the new single," he says in an interview with Taste of Country Nights. Brooks has a new single out called "All Day Long."

Brooks will get back to a bigger live stage soon to play the first-ever concert at Notre Dame Stadium. There is also talk that he might be working on plans to travel overseas for a run of dates.
