Fundraiser for Dee Resick Set for November 8 at the Silver Dollar in Chamberlain

Friends and neighbors are coming together to show some love and support for one of their own — Dee Resick. A special fundraiser is planned for Saturday, November 8, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Silver Dollar in Chamberlain, South Dakota.

It sounds funny for me to only say one Dee. I went to every year of school with Dee Dee Houchin. Every year. Kindergarten through Senior year at Lyman High School in Presho, South Dakota. When I heard that Dee Dee was battling cancer I knew one thing: I wanted to help and I'd make some noise about this get together at The Silver Dollar in Chamberlain.

This event is shaping up to be a fun, food-filled afternoon with a big heart behind it. On the menu? Bull Dogs! You can enjoy them plain or load them up with chili, plus chips on the side. It’s all for a free-will donation, so bring a full wallet or a loaded checkbook and spread some good vibes and fun— and know it’s going toward helping a great person.

There will be plenty of chances to bid on some incredible prizes. Just added, a Henry :22! It's awesome and you could take it home! Plus, there will be silent auction items, including Bose Bluetooth headphones, certificates to Local Lockers, Old Barbie Dolls  plus tickets to see Eric Church live at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls on February 6th, and tickets for Bailey Zimmerman and Hudson Westbrook on Saturday, April 18th at the same venue.

If you’d like to lend a hand, there’s still room for more helpers! Volunteers are welcome to join in the setup starting at 11:00 AM. Whether you can help serve food, or just spread the word. Super Pam has been spearheading the event and says every bit of support makes a difference.

Dee has been calling Kimball, South Dakota home for her married life. Make no mistake, this is one small-town event with a big heart — good food, good friends, and a great cause. Other Kennebec Childhood friends, like Dawn and Lori and even Wade has been offering help and ideas from Arizona. This is an All Kennebec Crew getting together to wrap their arms around Dee Dee and and her family show support!  So mark your calendar, grab your appetite, and head down to the Silver Dollar in Chamberlain on November 8.
