There is something powerful about watching, and listening to a line of motorcycles rumble through the streets.

Last night the motorcycles road from J&L Harley-Davidson, through Sioux Falls, led by a police escort, and carrying very precocious cargo.

When I heard The 8th Anniversary Patriot Tour was scheduled to stop in Sioux Falls last night I hustled to pick up my daughter, and make our way to Veterans Memorial Park to watch the passing of the flag ceremony.

A description of the ride from J&L Harley-Davidson website:

Every year The Nation of Patriots organizes a national effort that pays tribute to, and honors, all of America’s Armed Forces – Past, Present, and Fallen. This united effort is known as The Patriot Tour. The Patriot Tour traditionally begins during Memorial Day weekend. A massive group of riders escorts one American Flag on the back of a motorcycle to the first of many destinations.

We watched the ceremony of the flag being presented to the rider responsible for escorting the flag to the next state.

I've learned the more events I've taken my daughter to that honor our veterans, the more she wants to go to.

These types of events teach our kids about honoring, and respecting the service of these brave men, and women.

I have also noticed going to ceremonies like this, inspire questions and reflection in myself, and my daughter.

Thanks to J&L Harley for being a part of this event.

God bless the men, women, and their families who have served this country.
