Eric Church has some news dropping in the next couple of days, and he is stirring up excitement for the big reveal with a post to social media.

The superstar is rumored to be releasing a new single on Thursday (July 12), and he is mysteriously hinting at a special announcement across social media. On Tuesday (July 10), he simply posted "July 12th - 9:00am EST" in white lettering over a black backdrop via Instagram, while his website homepage features a clock counting down to that day.

Church has not provided any information on what's coming, leaving it up to fans' imaginations about what to expect. They're clearly intrigued and excited by Church's Instagram tease, speculating about a single, album or possible tour announcement. According to Whiskey Riff, radio station 98.5 KVOO’s Marty and Sunny in Tulsa, Okla., announced via Facebook video that they're slated to premiere a new single from Church at 6AM CT on Friday (July 13). That video has since been removed.

The last single fans heard from Church was 2017's "Round Here Buzz," which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. He released his most recent album, Mr. Misunderstood, on the same day the CMA Awards took place in 2015, and the project earned him extensive critical acclaim. He won Album of the Year for the project at the CMAs one year later.

Church and his family recently announced the death of his brother, Brandon. The singer's father, Kenneth, shared that Brandon experienced a series of seizures, one at his home in North Carolina and another after being transported to the hospital, before he died on June 29. Church posted a brief note about his brother's death on his official website. The family has set up a memorial scholarship in his name, with the donations going toward education-related efforts, raising nearly $30,000. Church paid tribute to his late brother during a concert in Ohio days after his death, singing a stirring rendition of "Amazing Grace" and "Sinners Like Me."
