Imagine, a tree house, without the tree?  Now picture a mini house on stilts. The outdoorsmen in me is thinking a nice warm comfortable deer stand that you could step out on the deck and fill your tag. However you look at it, it's pretty awesome and if your looking to go up one on the neighbors this might be the ticket!

I stopped by Wednesday over the lunch hour and met with Jeff Dougherty. As I checked the huge Camping World Flag stand straight out I thought to myself, 'this should be interesting.

I climbed the steps  and Dougherty invited me into what looked like an apartment  in Sioux Falls. You might call it an open concept, or an entire house with a view. The best part is, you can take this luxury treehouse, without trees and put it overlooking your view!

I envisioned a couple spots along with James River or Big Sioux or in the back yard of an acreage! I mentioned the South Dakota wind earlier. I thought there might be some movement but the elevated house stood like a rock!

Maguire is the company that's known nationwide for building and maintaining water towers. The tower along I-29 near Tea, South Dakota is a perfect example. The idea for elevated came from family trips to Mexico where they saw similar elevated homes out in nature!

The structure comes in kit form, complete with state of the art SIPS panels along with other high-quality materials like Andersen Windows and doors, cedar, and aluminum decking and railings. The SIP panels are an interlocking system that aids in ease of construction and durability, much like Legos!

I hadn't heard of SIP panels before, according to Wikepedia; SIP is a sandwich structured composite, consisting of an insulating layer of rigid core sandwiched between two layers of structural board, used as a building material.

The day was windy,  but the house, sitting 10 feet in the air, stood strong and quiet and peaceful!

Elevated Outdoor Living is having an open house Friday, September 20th from 1-4 p.m. at 2001 E Robur Dr. Sioux Falls. It is be the perfect time to go experience something new and exciting, as I did, and see how you could really elevate your outdoor space with one of these exciting spaces.
