Dierks Bentley is wrapping up his four-episode series of Black music videos with the release of the video for the upcoming album's title track.

The story takes off straight from the end of the third video -- "Pick Up" -- which concluded on a dark note. The video focuses on the aftermath of a love triangle gone awry, but it still leaves viewers with some questions on where the characters go from the end.

“The final episode of the series actually ends with some questions still to be answered, which is kind of what relationships do … it feels like they are always twisting and turning, and it is really all up for your own interpretation,” Bentley says in a press release. “The album was built around the song ‘Black’ … it’s the first song in the album sequence and those three and a half minutes set the rest of the story in motion. It’s really bare and also one of the most intense songs I’ve ever written."

The series as a whole is very dark and while the final episode was originally taped in color, Bentley and director Wes Edwards decided to go with black-and-white instead, in part due to the steamy nature of the video .

"I saw it originally in color and I thought, 'Damn, that's pretty racy!'" Bentley tells Rolling Stone Country. "In color, it's almost like Skin-emax, but you put it in black-and-white and it's more like Chris Isaak's 'Wicked Game': sexy cool. So we went a little more Chris Isaak, a little less Skin-emax. [Laughs]."

Bentley billed "Black" as a love song -- and a nod to his wife Cassidy's maiden name -- but the track could be seen as more about lust than love.

"My wife said, 'I thought this was supposed to be a love song,'" he says. "I said, 'Black' is the love song. And she said, 'But it's not a love song ... it's an in-the-moment love song.'"

If you missed the previous videos in Bentley's series, make sure to check out “I’ll Be the Moon,” "What the Hell Did I Say" and "Pick Up."

Black is set for release on May 27. The album is available for pre-order via Amazon and iTunes.
