Dacotah Bank Robbery in Sioux Falls
Just before 10 AM on Wednesday November 2, Police were called to the Dacotah Bank in the 1700 Block of S. Marion Road, near 26th Street and Marion Road for a bank robbery.
Officer Sam Clemens has more information:
The two suspects entered the building, showed a handgun, and left with cash. Both were wearing neon green hooded sweatshirts. The suspect with the handgun is around 5’5” tall and 130 pounds. He was wearing a Halloween mask with a long beard, a baseball cap, and sunglasses. The other suspect is around 6’ tall, 180 pounds, and was wearing a Halloween mask.
The two men left in a car that was found about a block south of the bank. Police found the car used in the robbery was reported stolen from Sioux Falls on October 25.
Weapons were reported to have been displayed during the robbery, which occured just at approximately 9:30 AM.
Several Sioux Falls schools in the area went under a shelter in place mode, where normal activities inside continue, however no one is allowed to enter or leave the school:

- JFK, Oscar Howe
- RF Pettigrew
- Discovery
- Memorial MIddle School
A local business phoned police to describe suspicious activity prior to police arrival, describing the possible switching of vehicles by an individual. It is not known if this incident is related to the robbery.
