Jordyn Olsen’s cancer journey began at the age of 6 months when her parents noticed a lump on her head.

Since that time, Jordyn has undergone several surgeries, chemo treatments, a bone marrow transplant, etc. Her parents and siblings have handled this time with grace and faith. They even stood strong in the face of being told Jordyn was considered terminal when she was just a baby.

Since being deemed terminal, Jordyn enrolled in an experimental trial and beat Neuroblastoma.

An amazing family, they’ve battled their daughter’s cancer, endured dad Justin being deployed for a year, and now have endured being told Jordyn has a different form of cancer because of the experimental treatments used to save her life.

Jordyn was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, last year. In February, 2014, due to the tumors spreading so aggressively, treatment was stopped. The family did hospice at home, keeping Jordyn as comfortable as possible and making as many memories as they could in the time that remained.

Jordyn Kate Olsen earned her angel wings at 11:30 a.m. on March 20, 2014.

Jodie and Justin have created “Jordyn’s Joy Bags” as a legacy for their daughter. They are thoughtful gifts for kids that are newly diagnosed with cancer. They purchased iPads for each infusion bay in the Schoeneman Infusion Center at Sanford Children’s, that are available for kids getting treatments.
