Craig Morgan will be awarded with the Army's Outstanding Civilian Service Medal in recognition of his ongoing dedication to performing for U.S. troops around the world. The singer, who served in the Army for nearly two decades, has made 15 overseas tours for U.S. troops and performed for more than 37,000 service members and their families.

The “That's What I Love About Sunday” singer will be presented with his award on June 23 at the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (GLAC AUSA) annual Army Ball, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Huntington Beach, Calif. The Outstanding Civilian Service Medal is one of the highest awards that the Department of the Army can bestow upon a civilian.

Morgan recently returned to the U.S. after embarking on his 10th USO Tour to perform for military overseas. The eight-day tour entailed stops in seven countries, including western Tokyo, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq and Spain; as well as the Korean Peninsula where the U.S. Army veteran was once stationed.

Morgan, who recently opened his own storefront the Gallery at Morgan Farms in Dickson, Tenn., is always looking for ways to give back to our veterans. While he and his family run the store, they are committed to helping those who have served our country by hiring them to work at the family store.

"We truly have a great appreciation, having served in the military myself, for what it is they do," Morgan tells Taste of Country Nights. "If it were not for those men and women who are willing to put themselves in harm's way, we would not live the life that we live in this country today."
