Carrie Underwood Opens Up About the Possibility of More Kids
Carrie Underwood isn't sure if her family is complete, or if she and Mike Fisher might add another child, she admits during an interview with Today's Natalie Morales that aired on Wednesday (May 1).
But she seems as open as ever to what comes her way.
"It's such a difficult road to get where we are now," Underwood says. She opened up last fall about the multiple miscarriages she suffered before getting pregnant with a healthy baby boy. Jacob — her second son — was born in January.
The country superstar's Cry Pretty 360 Tour launches Wednesday night in North Carolina, and she says she'll have to evaluate her family planning "after this tour is over." She's taking things as they come, she says, "Then we can talk about what’s next."
"But I’ve been a lot of kind of ‘live in the moment’ lately. And I think that’s good. I am kind of a planner and I really do like knowing what’s around every corner," she adds.

“If there's anything the past couple of years have taught me [it’s] that you don’t know what’s gonna happen next," she says now, in 2019, "And there’s no way you can plan for everything or make everything be the way you want it. So it’s been good for me to just kind of be present, and live in the moment and stop trying so hard to plan out the entire rest of my life."
Living in the present is especially sweet for Underwood at the moment, as she is enjoying life as a family of four with the addition of baby Jacob. Underwood and Fisher also have a 4-year-old son, Isaiah Michael.
If anything positive came from her losses, it's that she has been able to help others. "I’ve definitely had people come up to me on the street and just cry and just say, ‘It’s nice to know that somebody knows what it feels like,'" the singer says, explaining how people have approached her to relate about pregnancy loss.
These days, she's just trying to keep things flowing smoothly with two small children and a full time job as a public figure.
"Everything that we all do is just as difficult but in different ways," Underwood acknowledges. "How many people get to take their children to work with them?"
