Bobby Bones Shares A Funny Gift Mishap Before Anniversary
Bobby Bones is about to celebrate his 4th wedding anniversary with his wife, Caitlin.
He told The Bobby Bones Show that he might have made a mistake. A few months ago, they went on a trip and stayed at a hotel where they had tea service. Caitlin really liked the tea set the hotel used. Bobby spent some time searching and eventually found the exact same set. It took about seven weeks to arrive, and when it finally came, he was so excited to give it to her.
But as soon as he gave her the gift, he realized he had just used what could have been the perfect anniversary present. He admitted that he loves giving gifts and gets too excited to wait for the right time. Now, with so many holidays and special occasions, it’s getting harder for him to find good gifts. He said he "totally blew it" and should have just waited one more month. He joked that maybe he’s too good of a husband for being so thoughtful too early. Still, Caitlin was really impressed with the gift when she opened it.
Bobby laughed and said being the “perfect husband” isn’t always as great as it sounds. Eddie gave him credit for being a great listener and remembering the small things his wife says.
Then Bobby asked others who’ve been married longer to share their best marriage advice. Eddie, who’s about to hit 20 years of marriage, said it’s important to "pick your battles." Amy, who was married for over 15 years, said the word "stretch" helps her understand relationships—especially when it comes to compromise. She also said it’s better to be curious than critical in a relationship, and admitted she learned that lesson later in life.
