From the moment Billy Ray Cyrus lent his voice to the scorching hit “Old Town Road” back in April of this year, the country singer has seemingly gotten used to performing with Lil Nas X.

But their performance at the 2019 BET Awards on Sunday (June 23) might have been even more than even Cyrus could have expected.

"Oh man, it was electrifying," the 57-year-old told Entertainment Tonight following the much-talked about performance. "I'm just kinda in shock in this moment. The crowd stood up and they sang every word. I never felt a moment quite like that."

Just a few weeks before, the two had put a CMA Fest crowd in a complete frenzy with their performance of the hit song, even inviting Keith Urban up on the stage to sing it with them.

Cyrus went on to say that he considered it an honor to even be asked to perform on stage at the BET Awards. Fans may recall that country newcomer Jimmie Allen made news earlier this year when he called out BET for not playing videos from African-American country artists.

"It was just such an honor being here," said a still-buzzing Cyrus, who was clad in a leather jacket, jeans and a cowboy hat for the performance alongside Lil Nas X, who wore quite the interesting yellow and black outfit. "And being a part of this festival and these festivities and this celebration of music. It'll be a moment that I'll always cherish and remember. It was very special."
