The fire that swept through the Beef Complex on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds  in October, took more than just the facility, it cut deep on the many people around our state that would flock to Huron for events like barrel racing.

Having an indoor, centrally located facility made it possible for 'turners and burners'  to extend the season and to spend more time with their four-legged and people friends. When the facility burned, a building that was near and dear to many in the barrel racing community was sorely missed.

I recently read on my Facebook feed that Dawn Cable from Pukwana was starting a fundraiser. I'm sure there will be many more for the rebuilding of this building, [hopefully] but if the reaction to her post is any indication, this on-line ask seems to be getting traction. Her post read;

I went to Great Western Bank in Chamberlain this morning and set up an account for the fundraiser. It is called Barrel Racers for the Complex. You can do direct deposit or send the bank a check.
