We love country music in the Midwest, but ever wonder how country artists fare nationwide? According to a list by Statista, in 2016 there were three country superstars who made the top ten list of most successful music tours, based on gross revenue.
Coming in at number four was Garth Brooks. During 2016, Brooks accumulated a whopping $97 million across the nation. His tour beat out both Adele and Justin Bieber, who ended just shy of $90 million. Brooks was the only artist to make the worldwide top 10, landing at number eight.
Next in line for country showmen was Luke Bryan at number 9. Bryan earned $84.1 million in gross revenue in just 12 months. Behind him at number 10 was Kenny Chesney with $69.5 million.
Considering the stars were ranked among some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, this was an impressive feat.
Others in the rankings were Guns ’N’ Roses at number two with $130.8 million and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band at number 3 with $122.4 million.
You could say Sioux Falls helped Carrie Underwood land amongst the best. She came in at number 15 with $58.2 million.
With the plethora of country concerts coming up this year, it will be exciting to see if KIKN Country can contribute to more country superstar success in 2017.
