It was on this day 71 years ago that Hank Williams walked into Herzog Studio in Cincinnati Ohio to record I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. All these years later and the song is still inspiring new generations of country fans to discover his music for the first time. Johnny Cash, 1960: Hank Williams had only been gone for 7 years when Johnny sat down to record this. It was a fitting tribute. This performance comes from his "Aloha From Hawaii" special. It took place in Honolulu and was broadcast live, via satellite to over 40 countries across the globe. Presley would pass away just four years later but left his fans with countless songs that would live on forever, just as Williams did 20 years before.

Goerge Jones and Randy Travis, 1991: George Jones was already a legend in his own right by the '90s, and also a big Hank Williams fan. In this concert, he brought Randy Travis on stage, as the two traded verses. Travis and Jones have two of the greatest voices in the genre, and this rendition of a classic brings goosebumps to any country music fan.
