This year is a very special one for women in country: 2018 marks the first year that CMT has chosen to honor women — and women only — in its Artists of the Year television special.

Any show honoring women is also certain to have a dazzling red carpet of stylish outfits, of course; and this one filled the bill, while many of the artists stunned in unique dresses, artists such as Maddie Marlow of Maddie and Tae, Elle King and Schuyler Fisk chose cutting-edge jumpsuits or pantsuits in lieu of flowing gowns.

Women in Country Music Are Banding Together ... It's Time for a Revolution:

The show, which aired live from Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center Oct. 17, honored notable female voices Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town and Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum.
