Bria Shay Neff, a young artist and a advocate for animals, has partnered with the Great Plains Zoo to create a coloring book to raise awareness of animals facing an uncertain future.

Endangered Faces of the Great Plains Zoo features coloring pages of the Zoo’s 24 endangered species and messages about protecting animals.

Inspired by what she learned while visiting the Zoo, Shay Neff, 9, decided to begin painting and drawing endangered species to give them a face, so they wouldn’t disappear. Her goal is to create awareness, motivate others and raise money to donate to causes that support animal welfare.

“All children have the ability to make a difference in the world,” said Bria Shay Neff. “We just need to work together and believe we can do great things.”

“Bria’s passion for the world’s most vulnerable animals is inspiring. Her coloring book will allow children to have fun while learning about the Zoo’s 24 endangered species.” said Elizabeth A. Whealy, President & CEO of the Great Plains Zoo.

The coloring book is available in the Zoo’s gift shop, and 100% of the proceeds will go to support the Zoo’s conservation efforts.

To learn more about Bria’s efforts to save animals, go to her website, pigtailsart.com, or visit her Facebook page, “Faces of the Endangered”. The Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sundays from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Visit the Zoo online at www.greatzoo.org or call 605-367-7003 for more information about the Zoo and Museum
