When the next Sioux Falls City election takes place April 12th, your vote will decide who will fill three open positions on City Council.  The current members vacating their positions are forced to do so due to term limits.

On Tuesday January 12, 2016. Mayor Mike Huether and City Council Chair Kenny Anderson Jr. held a press conference to encourage you to consider to offer your talents for city service opportunities, including the Sioux Falls City Council.

Three city council positions open are for the Northwest, Southwest and Northeast regions of Sioux Falls.  Vacating their positions are Greg Jamison, Dean Karsky, and Kenny Anderson Jr. 

If you're considering a run for city council or would like to nominate someone, the city is accepting petitions starting January 29, 2016.

Election booklets and petition forms may be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office, 235 West Tenth Street, or the nominating petitions may be downloaded at www.siouxfalls.org/election.

Open City Council seats being vacated due to term limits are:

Councilor Kermit L. Staggers currently holds the At-Large Council member position and is eligible for a second term.
