As we get ready to send 2014 out and welcome 2015 in, many take this time to stop and think about what they want to get done or change in the New Year. And whether you keep them or not, just about everyone makes at least one New Year's resolution.

According to a poll done by The International Business Times, these are the 5 most popular New Year's resolutions that people are making for 2015.  But keep in mind that the number of people that actually keep those New Year's resolutions is only 8 percent! The reasoning is because some resolutions are simply too hard to achieve in one year and often times, people simply lose interest.

Below are the Top 5 New Year's Resolutions for 2015:

  • 1

    Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!

Face it, after all the holiday parties, there is a pretty good chance that you have added on a couple extra pounds.  If the pants are starting to feel a bit snug, many make "Exercise more!" the number one New Year's Resolution.

Cut Back On The Sugar And Sweets.

Many feel the New Year is a good time to start re-thinking what they eat.  Eating too much sugar isn't good for you anyway, so now is a good time to start reaching for more fruits and vegetables instead of the sugary, sweet treats.

Prioritize Yourself! Allow For Some "ME" Time!

It's OK to think of yourself when making a New Year's resolution!  The New Year is a great time to realize that you are not being selfish by allowing yourself to indulge in 'me time".  Even the smallest indulgence for yourself will help you recharge and make you feel better.

    Give More Hugs.

A New Year's resolution you can make for someone else would be to give more hugs to those you appreciate and love.  Giving hugs can not only help the receiver of the hug feel better, but it can also make the giver of the hug happier and less stressed.
