A lot has been written and said about the renovations being done at Wrigley Field in Chicago for the 2015 Major League Baseball season, as the home of the Cubs undergoes a major facelift, including new bleacher seating, and a first for the "friendly confines" - a jumbo tron video board.

But lost in all of the discussion is another fixture at MLB's 29 other stadiums that is finally making its' way to the oldest ballpark in the National League: walk up music.

The Cubs are the last team in baseball to have something other than organ music serenading players as they make their way to the batters box. Beginning this season, and from here on out, Cubs players will get to choose which tunes blare over the loudspeakers as they emerge from the on-deck circle. The team did try walk up music on an experimental basis five years ago, but the dulcet tones more associated with churches and roller rinks returned a year later.

So what can we look forward to hearing for Cubs players in 2015? Here is a small sampling:

  • Jake Arrieta - "Bad Company" by Five Finger Death Punch
  • Phil Coke - "Burn it to the Ground" by Nickleback
  • Chris Denorfia - "Mental Health (Bang Your Head)" by Quiet Riot
  • Ryan Sweeney - "No Hands" by Waka Flocka Flame
  • Jon Lester - "I Use What I Got" by Jason Aldean

On second thought, maybe organ music isn't so bad.
