WORLD’S OLDEST PERSON DEAD AT AGE 116
Besse Cooper of Monroe, Ga. died peacefully on Tuesday. She had her hair done, watched a Christmas video, and then slipped on the pine overcoat. She was born 1896. That year Utah became a state, The first modern Olympic games took place in Athens, & William McKinley was president.
Cooper was one of the first women to vote in Georgia and she even helped sign others up to cast ballots. Only eight people have ever been documented to have lived to age 116
When asked for her secret to a long life, Cooper told the folks at Guinness: "I mind my own business. And I don't eat junk food."
You know I'm all for long life and all, but how old is too old? If you could, would you want to live to be 116? If you get to an age where you think you've lived long enough should you be able to just "Check Out" if you want to? How come the government says we have no right to decide how long we live and how we make our final exit. Shouldn't that be up to us? What do you think?
