World Adoption Day is Wednesday November 15th

I attended an adoption celebration event a couple weeks ago, and watched some of the most inspiring performances I've ever witnessed. This celebration was put on by Loving Mothers

All of the performers at the event had been adopted themselves. Some danced, others sang, or played and instrument, and the beautiful picture of the incredible power of adoption was on full display.

November is adoption month with a few days highlighted on the calendar throughout the month to bring awareness, and celebration to adoption.

World Adoption Day.org is encouraging everyone to help spread the word of adoption today. Here is a baby step we can all take: just by drawing a smiley face on your hand take a picture, and post it using the hashtag #WorldAdoptionDay. Wendy's restaurant chain is one of many places around the world participating in World Adoption Day.

Some people might not know that Dave Thomas the founder of Wendy's has such a big heart for adoption. You will find this statement from it's founder on the Wendy's website:

"Every child deserves a permanent home and loving family. Having a family means there are people who care about you and who will always be there for you. Adoption is a great way to create or add to a family. There are so many children in America waiting to be adopted." Dave Thomas

In 1992 Dave established The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. According to biorgraphy.com Thomas never knew his birth family, he was adopted when he was 6 months old.

At paricipating Wendy's locations after 5:00 pm on November 15th, 15% of all proceeds will be donated to halp children in foster care find forever families.
