Looks like we are in for our first WINTER STORM of the 2016 winter season.  Your Friday morning commute could be a real mess.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls there is a WINTER STORM WARNING in effect from 3am to 6pm Friday Nov. 18th.

Cities include Luverne, Flandreau, Salem, Bridgewater, Montrose, Sioux Falls, Centerville, Canton, Lennox, Tea, Harrisburg, and others in eastern South Dakota.  Also reaching into Rock County, Minnesota.

This weather event will likely start with rain and change to snow with 3 to 6 inches of possible accumulation.

Snow, Blowing Snow, Wind and visibility will cause driving difficulty.  Winds will be between 30 to 50 mph.

There is a BLIZZARD WARNING in effect for portions of South Dakota and Minnesota from 3am to 7pm on Friday for areas around Brookings, South Dakota and  Marshall, Minnesota.

Snow accumulation of 5 to 8 inches of snow with winds of 30 to 50 mph will cause Blizzard Conditions. Blowing and drifting snow is likely to cause hazardous driving conditions in these areas.
