Will Green Bay Packers Honor Favre at Lambeau?

Current Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers says it’s time that the team honor his predecessor by retiring Brett Favre’s jersey.

In an article on the National Football Post, Rodgers said he is hopeful that reconciliation between the team and their former future Hall of Famer will happen. In February Rodgers and Favre appeared together in February during an event in the run-up to the Super Bowl.

“It’s been too long,” Rodgers said during a visit on The Jim Rome Show, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I think our country and the state of Wisconsin, these people are people of second, third and fourth chances, and I think it’s time to let the healing process begin for those who are still upset about what went down.

“I was totally OK with being out front of that, and I’m very secure of the things I’ve been able to accomplish with the team and individually here in Green Bay, and excited about the chance to see him again and get his number retired here before he goes into Canton.”

The question remains: where is the animosity? Current Packers president Mark Murphy is on record about his desire to see Favre back in the ‘Packers Family’ and honored at Lambeau Field. But Favre is remaining silent on the issue.
