Have you ever given any thought to, if you're ever diagnosed with a terminal illness, where you would like to spend the final few days of your life? Would it be at home? In a hospital? In hospice care?

According to research published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, when doctors are diagnosed with a terminal illness, most DO NOT go to the hospital to die. Instead, the study found, most doctors opt for little treatment and at-home care.

The belief is that most doctors make their final decisions based on what they see firsthand in the hospital. Because of the pain and burdens that end-of-life care can often times bring, most doctors opt to instead spend their final days at home.
