What’s Hot For Halloween

With Halloween fast approaching, Dave Hoffman of Party America in Sioux Falls says zombies are hot this season!

For kids, Dave says accessories are a big thing right now.  "Kids want to make up their own costumes so they're different from all their friends. "

Dave says adults also want to put together their own Halloween outfits.  "They don't want to run in to other adults wearing the same costume.  Next thing you know, there are 6 women wearing exactly the same costume at a party."

Halloween, by the way, is typically the second most important holiday for retailers.  It is expected to drive more than 7 billion dollars in U.S. retail sales, if 2011 was an indicator.
