Extensive work in the area of 12th and Kiwanis continues as the final push arrives for this construction project. A four-month journey is nearly complete.

Ranked among the top ten busiest intersections in Sioux Falls, 12th Street and Kiwanis Avenue traffic slows to a crawl during certain portions of the day with the abundance of equipment and orange cones. The project began in late April with a projected finish in September.

Billed as the 2015 project that would affect the most traffic in the city, special lane assignments based on traffic patterns assisted in helping get the work done. Repairs were made from Kiwanis to Western Avenues with the current stage of work mostly affecting this critical junction.

Recalling that a good chunk of work took place between I-29 and Kiwanis Avenue in 2014, those who use this street know the drill.
