Does it frighten any other parents that following college graduation your student just might be moving back to their old bedroom at home? The college graduating class of 2015 is expected to graduate about 2 million college students across the United States. But the big question is, will those graduates actually find jobs? The answer to that questions is 'YES' if those men and women majored in agriculture.

It's a field (no pun intended) that many don't choose to study, but according to a report by the USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Purdue University, there are about 57,900 available jobs in agriculture and related fields each year. But according to the study, only about 35,400 students will graduate with at least a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture to take those open positions that could include food production and nutrition, agricultural science and biomaterials.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack says that there is incredible opportunity for highly-skilled jobs in agriculture.

Those receiving degrees in agricultural fields can expect to have ample career opportunities. Not only will those who study agriculture be likely to get well-paying jobs upon graduation, they will also have the satisfaction of working in a field that addresses some of the world's most pressing challenges. These jobs will only become more important as we continue to develop solutions to feed more than 9 billion people by 2050.

Experts say that a few areas that are seeing a need for those graduating with a degree in Agriculture include plant science, water mangement, agricultural technology, nutrition (for both animals and people),veterinarians for food animals (especially in rural areas) and Agriculture Business and Management.

Because of the large number of open jobs in agriculture, college graduates who have degrees in agriculture are finding themselves in the position of having to juggle multiple job offers, a problem that many college graduates simply don't have.
