Vikings’ Peterson Says He’ll Break Rushing Record
In 2012, Adrian Peterson rushed for 2097 yards. Close but not the single season record he was hoping for. The Superman of the league accomplished that feat while capping off the season against rival Green Bay on December 30th, 2012.
Impressive, but not good enough for Adrian Peterson.
He has his sights set on the highest honor for a running back. The coveted all-time rushing record. That throne is currently occupied by Emmitt Smith.
In the off season, Adrian must have some quality Nostradamus time with his inner self. After some serious calculations, the confident back even set the date:
Week 16 of the 2017 season.
He’ll need to top 18,355 career yards to do so. The 28-year-old has five seasons to run for another 9,500 yards.
That’s definitely possible for Peterson who proved himself to be superhuman last year after coming back from a torn ACL injury.
