Urinal Cakes to Prevent DUI’s
The Colorado Department of Transportation is rolling out a new interactive ad campaign to combat drunk driving over the holiday weekend.
Motion sensor devices – called Interactive Urinal Communicators – have been installed in men’s rooms statewide that deliver a 15-second audio message encouraging men not to drink and drive.
It’s not a new idea, however. Michigan State Police distributed the talking urinal cakes statewide during the 4th of July weekend in 2012.
Colorado is also supporting the anti-drunk driving campaign with in-bar advertising such as coasters, posters.
The campaign targets men ages 21-34, who have a higher propensity for dying in alcohol-related car accidents.
