According to Xcel Energy, 20,000 are without power in Southeast South Dakota.  Customers should have power back by Friday.

Sioux Falls Fire Chief Jim Sideras says, "We're gonna have significant progress today.  "Most power will be back by tomorrow."

Sideras along with Mayor Mike Huether are not in any rush for residents to clear their sidewalks and driveways.  Both are urging residents to wait until the snow storm is over before snow and tree removal begin.

Sideras said, "Today, tomorrow is not the day to learn how to use a chainsaw. We've got plenty of time to remove the snow, remove the trees."

So, until then, the best thing to do is sit back, let mother nature run her course and wait for power to be restored.
