Police say a vehicle that was reported stolen in Sioux Falls was located around mid-day Sunday in a different part of the city, and someone had apparently tried to set it on fire.

Officer Sam Clemens says a person clearing snow from an apartment parking lot in the 2200 block of West 8th Street found the vehicle around 11:00 a.m. Sunday.

Clemens says someone had stuffed a rag into the gas tank and tried to set it on fire, but was unsuccessful., so the vehicle was not damaged. He says the rag appeared to have been put into the vehicle's gas tank "some time ago."

The 2003 Honda Pilot had been reported stolen on February 12th from the 3800 block of South Western Avenue.
