It’s almost like fate brought Tyler Dickerson to The Voice stage for his blind audition to perform in front of Blake Shelton and pair the two together. After a tough journey in the country music industry, Dickerson is back in the game for what he calls his "second chance."

Dickerson got his start as a young country artist at the age of 15, when he signed to a record label in Nashville and John Rich (Big & Rich) took him under his wing. Unfortunately, it was over almost before it began — the label dissolved and Dickerson had to go back to life as usual. To make matters worse, he says he also got in a terrible car accident soon after.

“I had it all, and it was all taken away,” Dickerson said tearfully after his performance of the Black Crowes’ "Hard to Handle."

It seems Dickerson’s rough story has taken a positive turn, however, as his impressive, powerful vocals soared on the Southern rock tune and showed Shelton the strength of his talent, causing the star to turn his chair around early in the performance.

Shelton fortunately got Dickerson all to himself, and after hearing the performer’s name, the star shouted out, “I know you!” Shelton remembered Dickerson from his early days in Nashville and seemed thrilled to have the opportunity to give him that second chance at a career in country.
