It was the first time in South Dakota history that a national championship game was broadcasted on national network TV, and the ratings show it was a huge hit.

3,200 fans packed the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls for the DII men's basketball championship game between Fairmont State and Northwest Missouri State. It was Northwest Missouri State winning their first championship with a 71-61 win.

The atmosphere inside the Sanford Pentagon was electric, and it came off great on television. CBS broadcasted the game nationwide on Saturday afternoon and the ratings are in.

According to Sports TV Ratings on Twitter, over one million people tuned into the championship game with "Sioux Falls" and "Sanford Pentagon" shown countless times throughout the broadcast.

That is exposure you can't put a price on.

The Sanford Pentagon will host the DII Elite Eight again in 2018.
