I was texting back and forth with a co-worker, Seth Lubbers today. Seth is a sales representative for Results Radio and has evidently picked up some part time hours. His hours as you can tell have him going back and forth in the field.

Seems Seth has a friend or family member who farms down in the Vermillion, SD area. Seth sent a couple of pics to me today. While the harvest was going on, the farmers had Seth working some corn stalks. For a farmer, it's nice to have someone doing 'follow up work,' while your working on getting the crops in.

The reason I mention technology, Lubbers was busy texting back and forth while the tractor was driving itself with the aid of Auto Steer. Sure, Lubbers had to turn the tractor at the end of the field.  Technology has taken farmers a LONG way in the past 80 to 90 years!

Earlier Saturday morning I talked with Dan Soulek from the Armour/Wagner area. Soulek had finished up the beans earlier this week and he thought he might get the remainder of his winter wheat planted before jumping hard at the corn harvest

The weather has been awesome for 'getting things done,' hopefully it will continue. Good luck and have a safe harvest farmers!

Take a couple pics of yourself out in the field. Send them along with a line or two about what your doing to jdcollins@kikn.com.  We'd love to do a story on your farming!
